IMD
The International Environmental Film Festival (FINCA), which is organized by the Instituto Multimedia DerHumALC (IMD) and had its second edition last July, is pleased to announce that it will be joining the Green Film Network (GFN). GFN is one of the largest organizations devoted to bring together major film festivals from around the globe and encourages the promotion and distribution of films focused on environmental issues.

Based in Turin, Italy, GFN is a non-profit association that supports international collaboration, promotion and cultural exposure amongst film festivals that explore green initiatives, social struggles and environmental concerns worldwide.

GFN recognizes cinema as a valuable driver of social change and culture as a powerful catalyst for reflecting upon environmental issues. Therefore, it works hard for promoting the international distribution and visibility of films among the associated festivals and encouraging the exchange of information, collaboration and promotion of events, debates, publications, television presentations, as well as artistic productions in the fields of music, literature and, particularly, cinema.

All of us at IMD — and, by extension, at FINCA — strongly believe that it is crucial to establish such networks in order to work together to raise global awareness about environmental issues that affect Latin America and the world.
