Nicole Karsin

director of We Women Warriors

Nicole Karsin covered the conflict in Colombia as a news correspondent from 2002 to 2009. She founded Todos Los Pueblos Productions in 2007. Tejiendo Sabiduría (We Women Warriors) is her first film, which premiered in New York and LA during DocuWeeks in August 2012. It has been nominated for Best Documentary in the Imagen awards.

Guillermo Planel

Guillermo Planel was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. He is 52 years old and he has been living in Rio de Janeiro since 1971. He is a photographer, a journalist and a documentary maker. He finished his postgraduate studies in Cinema in PUC-RIO. An important aspect of his current work is the relationship between the press and photojournalism and society through matters related to human rights and citizenship.

Jorge Gil Munarriz

director of El Método Arrieta

(Spain, 1981) He attended several film courses in San Sebastián and Madrid. He has worked as script writer in several TV shows (Euskal Telebista). He has been Assistant Director for the documentary Lucio, shortlisted in over 25 festivals around the world. El método Arrieta (The Arrieta Method) represents his debut as filmmaker.

Mileidy Orozco Domicó

director of Mu Drua

She is Colombian and an Embera Katio native from the Urabá Antioqueño region. She is the scriptwriter and director of the short documentary Mu Drua (My Land). She studies Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication in the University of Antioquia. She is part of the Cabildo Indígena Chibcariwak in Medellín, where she participates in the Communication program. She has done several investigations in ethnic communities, ancestral craft, youth groups and logistical support before entering the audiovisual world.

Ana María Ramírez Bedoya

Film and TV producer. Short films distributor. Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication student in the University of Antioquia. She has a passion for the conservation of audiovisual files. She is the producer and distributor of Mu Drua, a documentary that has participated in several film festivals, such as LAKINO Film Festival (Berlin, Germany - 2012), IBAFF Festival Internacional de Cine Murcia (Spain - 2012), Festival Internacional de Cortometraje FENACO (Peru - 2012), Festival Internacional Viña del Mar (Chile - 2012).
At present, she is leading the project for the creation of a documentation center: a files center, a means for the production and distribution of the works done by the students of the Communication faculty in the Colombian Antioquia University.

Brendan Fay

Originally from Ireland, Brendan is a civil rights activist and filmmaker.
He is director of Remembering Mychal (2013) a film about about Fr. Mychal Judge, the New York Fire Dept Franciscan chaplain who died 9-11. His film about pioneer priest John McNeill, Taking a Chance on God is screening at festivals worldwide. He is also co founder of the Civil Marriage Trail Project bringing same sex couples across borders for marriage including Edie Windsor and Thea Spyer.

Daniel Lambo

Daniel Lambo is a filmmaker who explores the boundaries of filmmaking, focused on social issues. Lambo’s first short film Dju! won the audience and jury award at Belgium´s most renowned short film festival. Three more short films followed, each building a strong festival career. His middle long film Brusilia premiered at the prestigious Locarno Film Festival in 2008. The next middle long film Miss Homeless was the film of The year of poverty 2010. Lambo co-directed Duts, a comedy series for the Belgian national broadcaster Canvas. In 2011 he went to Iran to film Dry Branches of Iran. And currently he is working on two feature films with the support of the Flemish film fund VAF.

Jan Beddegenoodts

Jan Beddegenoodts graduated as a journalist in 2009. After he graduated as a journalist, he started working both as photographer and journalist and he travelled through India, Cuba and North America. He did his internship with STVS (The national Television of Suriname). Last year he travelled to Palestine and Israel for eight months and produced two documentaries. His first documentary, The Taste of Freedom compares between Israeli raves and Palestine protests. His second documentary, Thank God it´s Friday is a portrait from the Palestinian village Nabi Saleh when facing the presence of the Israeli settlement Halamish.

Pamela Yates is a co-founder of Skylight Pictures a New York based company dedicated to creating films and digital media tools that advance awareness of human rights and the quest for justice. Her most recent film GRANITO: How to Nail a Dictator was presented as key evidence in Guatemala as part of the General Ríos Montt genocide trial.

His awards include two Royal Television Society awards, two One World awards, an Amnesty Award, Campaigning Journalist of the Year, a Columbia DuPont Broadcast Award & a Peabody.

Jonhatan Acevedo Escobar

director of Cartas a la memoria

Jonhatan Acevedo was born in August 15th,1990, in Barbosa town, 20 miles from the city of Medellín, Colombia. He studied TV Production and graduated from Colombian Politechnical University Jaime Isaza Cadavid in Medellín, and, at present, he is doing the fifth semester of Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication in Antioquia University, also in Medellín. Cartas a la memoria (Letters to memory) is his first work. He made it during the third semester of the course, together with his classmate Nicolás Mejía.

Paula Vaccaro

She has been a journalist and producer for over two decades. She worked for graphic media, TV, radio and cinema in Argentina, USA and Europe. She collaborated with Emir Kurturica, Sally Potter, Guillermo Arriaga, Jim Jarmusch and Oliver Stone, among others. She is an EMMY jury since 2009, she teaches courses for producers and is interested in film restoration.

Maura Delpero

Maura Delpero is a filmmaker and a Language Arts professor.
Her first full-length film, Signori professori, won the Ucca Award and the Avanti! Award in the 26th Torino Film Festival.
Her second full-length film, Nadea e Sveta, won the Mention in the prestigious Solinas Award, the historical Cipputi Award in the 30th Torino Film Festival and was nominated as a finalist in the 2013 David di Donatello Awards (the Italian Oscars).

She studied Foreign Language and Literature and graduated from Naples Oriental Institute. She also studied education and training, and coordinates the ‘Grupo Escuelas’ (Schools Group) formed within the network of the Human Rights Film Festival in Naples. She is the president of the Ecole Cinéma cultural association and collaborates with the French Film Association banlieue 93 St Denis and with “Tati Cinema – Italian Film Festival in Tremblay-en-France”, in order to create exchanges between schools in the suburbs and the film industry.

Andrea Bagnale

Author and scriptwriter of short, feature, and documentary films. He is an expert in audiovisual projects for public and private education, culture, and learning institutions and associations. In 2008, he founds the Guanxi association, where he takes the role of vice-president and responsible of the learning projects. He is also part of other local associations dedicated to the cultural promotion of Naples (Arteteca) and independent film (Indinapolicinema). He works for the Naples Cinema e Diritti Festival, where he organises activities with the Schools Group (Ecole Cinema) and the film competition.

Daniel Samyn was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He was the Production Director of several films by Pino Solanas: La Nube (The Cloud), Memoria del Saqueo (The Memory of the Sacking), La Dignidad de los Nadies (The Dignity of the Nobodys), Argentina Latente (Latent Argentina) and La Próxima Estación (The Next Station). And he is the producer of Playa Ancha-Caraparí and Kajianteya. He has given several courses and seminars about Film Producing, Staging, Acting in Films, Video Production and Technology. He has participated in many national and international events that have to do with the democratization of audiovisual media and cultural diversity. He is a member of APIMA (the association of independent producers of audiovisual media in Argentina).

She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She studied Film and participated in the painting workshop organized by the artists Juan Doffo and Paola Balario. She worked in several national and international full-length films. In these films, she specialized in directing by acting as script supervisor and assistant. She also works as a producer in the TV channel Encuentro and Tectv. In her works, she is the visual artist when it comes to painting, video and installation. Her paintings have been exhibited in Argentina and in Berlin, Germany. Desplazamient, her video installation, has been selected in the Region 0, The Latino Video Art Festival of New York, the Festival of Migrant Film FMF Slovenia, the 6th Cine en el Campo, Mexico, MARCO, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Vigo, and the 15th International Film Festival on Human Rights DerHumALC.

Teresa Martino

Teresa Martino is a film and TV producer (from CIC). She was the head producer of three short films about sexual diversity: En su lugar (In Their Place), Bunker (Bunker) and Lenguaje (Language). She has also directed a full-length documentary, Punto y Coma (Semicolon), which was subsidized by the Extension Department of the Humanities Faculty of the University of La Plata regarding Education in Gender Violence.

Born in Argentina in 1973. She studied Design of Image and Sound in the University of Buenos Aires and Documentary Film in the University of New York with Mary Ellen Mark and Adriana Lestido.
She is the author of the book "Otra mirada, Buenos Aires fotografiada por los chicos que viven en la calle" (Another look, pictures of Buenos Aires taken by children who live on the streets). She developed and directed the TV serie Desde la calle (From the street), for Channel Encuentro, winner of Best Documentary Series, New looks of Television.

Alberto Masliah

Sound and image designer, producer, director, actor and college professor. He directed the full-length documentary Negro Che, los primeros desaparecidos (Negro che: the first desaparecidos), the documentary El Último Quilombo (The last quilombo), not premiered yet, and the fiction Schafhaus, for which he is also co-script writer, producer and actor.
