Synopsis
Near the ancient city of Timbuktu in Mali, local people suffer under a regime of terror imposed by Jihadists determined to control them through faith and religion. Music, laughter, cigarettes and even football have been forbidden. The women have become shadows, but they hold on to their dignity. Every day, improvised courts pass tragic and absurd sentences. Kidane and his family have managed to distance themselves from the chaos that has taken over Timbuktu, but their destinies are soon to change.
